What is Infrared?
Infrared heat is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength longer than that of visible light, but shorter than that of radio waves. This radiating energy penetrates the body and heats it through an efficient process called conversion. Infrared heat is very similar to the heat you receive while laying out in the sun, except without the damaging portion of rays it has many therapeutic benefits.
Are infrared saunas safe?
Yes, Far Infrared energy is a form of heat which is readily absorbed by the body. Since our body absorbs infrared heat so well, lower temperatures can be used to achieve the same results of a tradional sauna. Thus Infrared is actually safer than tradional sauna heating.
What is the difference between a traditional sauna and a HomeSpa Infrared?
Our sauna heaters produce a heat similar to that of the sun except without any harmful uv rays. The spectrum of heat produced by HomeSpa saunas will heat your body directly, instead of just heating the air around you. Traditional Saunas require much higher temperatures to heat our bodies. The end result is that if you choose to, you can utilize lower temperatures during your therapies.
Are the lower temperatures in an infrared sauna still effective?
Yes, a HomeSpa sauna will produce up to double the sweat volume of a traditional sauna. Infrared heat penetrates several inches into our bodies , and is thought to be much more effective at toxifying harmful materials from our body. It is thought to be up to seven times more effective at detoxifying metals such as mercury and aluminum, as well as cholesterols, nicotine, alcohol and other toxins as compaired to a steam or traditional sauna.
What is the difference between a HomeSpa Sauna and ones found at my local home store?
Our high performance saunas are vastly superior to ones you will find locally for similar prices. Most home stores have saunas which were crafted only to have a low price and not with quality in mind. They often contain plastics and poly glues which put out fumes into the sauna with use; ours use no harmful glues or plastics.
Many advertise carbon fiber heating , but often it is a carbon paper heating element or carbon rods which provide very little infrared rays. These do get hot but can burn out with use and do not provide nearly the same therapeutic effect as our carbon fiber wide panel heating technology.
Models with ceramic heating elements also provide very little therapeutic effects and should not be considered if you are looking for quality. Ceramic heaters are much smaller than our large carbon fiber panels , therefore the heat is very hot and concentrated near the actual heating element and somewhat cooler in other parts of the sauna. This leads to some parts of your body being too hot , and other parts not getting enough heat for therapeutic benefits.
What type of woods do you use?
We use high quality Candian Hemlock and Red Ceder. These choice woods are never fumigated or treated and are instead kiln dried for over 60 days. This natural process protects the your sauna from any warping or cracking over time. Our saunas never use toxic glues or plastics.
How will my Sauna be delivered?
Your sauna will be shipped directly from our headquarters in Los Angeles. Your sauna will be packed in 2 - 3 boxes, secured to a pallet and shipped via our freight service. Orders usually ship within 2-4 days of receiving payment and take an additional 2-5 days to be delivered. Expedited options are available , please call if you need your sauna faster.
How do I install my sauna when it arrives?
Installation is meant to be quick and easy. All tools required are included with our step by step Installation Manual. If you would like to see a Installation Manual for a specific Sauna , Please contact us and we will email you one, or watch our Installation Video. This should help you decide if you need to take the home installation option or find someone to Install for you locally.
Do I need special electrical wiring?
Our single through triple saunas can simply be plugged into a Standard Electrical outlet. Our 3-4 person models require a 20Amp outlet ... If you are installing one of the larger models and need to upgrade your outlet, an electrician can easily make the change for you. We recommend making this upgrade while your sauna is being shipped to you and prior to assembly.
